W06 Reflection

"So You Want to Be an Entrepreneur"

In this week's study, I felt inspired to prioritize my relationship with God and keep Him as the focus of my life. I know that may sound weird instead of something like personal finances or family life but I have learned and felt that if I put God first, the rest will fall into place (with an effort of course).  Placing God as the priority of your life improved two main things that I got from this week's readings. The first is the ability to develop self-mastery and the other is to be inspired in the decisions you make (such as networking and making day to day decisions).
I loved the talk this week about self-mastery. Improving our self-mastery skills will be improved when we involve God in our lives. When we give God our hearts and are vulnerable with Him about our weaknesses, He will provide help. From feelings like anger to impulsivity, we are better able to control them when we involve God in the steps to do so. I do recognize that the road to self-mastery is not easy or something that comes quickly. The first couple of chapters of Mastery describe that well. It begins with baby steps and what once was unfamiliar movement will become muscle memory.
The second way we can benefit is in making day to day decisions. Sometimes opportunities come up and we don't have the most about of time to think about them, but by using the spirit we can best choose what will be good for us. When it comes to networking, we can be led to know when, where, and who to make connections with. I experienced this when I got home from my mission and felt prompted to talk to someone in my church congregation and then got a job in Boston through them.
This week taught me to keep my priorities in line with God's and all will line up well in the end.
